“The animator creates the universe in his mind and hands. Learn design, illustration and animation skills and become the master of your own universe.”

This qualification offers understanding by empowering students to work with media products, production processes and technologies. This leads to practical and creative skills that transfer into the workplace. Year 1 will involve the understanding of major production companies and how films are produced and marketed. You will then study graphic design and animation.

In year 2 you will produce a short animated film. This will involve using complex industry standard software. This course will involve written work to back-up your production skills.

Course requirements

GCSE Grade C or above in English.
Excellent IT skills. Experience of art at Key Stage 4.
Minimum pass standard at Btec level 2 (grade C/D GCSE). An interest in digital graphics/animation

What type of student is this course suitable for?

You will be creative and flexible with artistic and technical skills. You will be required to work independently and meet deadlines.
